I come onto this blog, and it has 2001 pageviews. a) that's the year I was born, and b) (cyclops unibrow face) I got 2000 pageviews. But that isn't the real reason I visited my blog.
I've been on this blog for over a year now, and it was the best place for to come and talk and laugh even if no one was there reading - but I'm doing other things now I'm just not into Blogger anymore. Sorry, guys that don't really exist, I'm signing off.
Period.Hey Hey Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How's it going? I know, for like the 500th time, I'M SORRY FOR NOT POSTING! But on the topic of posting, I'm POSTING from a SCHOOL computer! Somehow the old keys and continous safety-on-the-internet messages creates a sort of adventure...
I don't know why. Do you?
But anyway, on Valentines day, I was not eating chocolates or listening to cheesy romantic music, but...
...Taking an exam.
?!
I know you're thinking that. It's written all over your face.
It was for my middle school. I had to take it. But at least I have!
What other things have happened in the past month? Surely something... I can't quite seem to think of anything...
Oh yeah.
THE HOUSE OF HADES COMES OUT OCTOBER 8TH!!
And Olivia's sibling was born. It's a boy. No other info will be released! And I don't really think I'll be posting too much on Notre Cote Du Monde, I don't really have the inspiration anymore. But I have been inspired by my friend Lucy's blog to create another page for my writing!!!
I don't have to see you until next year.LAST POST OF 2012!!! Won't be posting till next year!!! i.e. tomorrow. Sorry that I haven't posted anything in a while but I was at my grandparent's place. I said this in, like, April, so if you're new to The Blog of Honeybees, I don't like going into big events because it takes forever and is usually pretty boring, so I do other things (but don't worry, I will recount EVERY FREAKING DETAIL of the Taylor Swift concert I'll be going to in June) so I won't tell you about much about Christmas except that it was really fun and that I awesome gifts! How was your Christmas? There's not much to say, so... Bye. See you next year. (Moment of truce) This is my 100th post!!!!!!!!Hey peeps,
I just had this random urge to write this post.
Okay, you caught me, it wasn't totally random, but it had a seriously long train of thought (most of my thoughts do) so if I lose you, please, I tried my best.
I was listening to Safe & Sound (by Taylor Swift) and I remembered how it was played, like five times last year at our school'd fun fair and that it was so popular, and that now if I told people I was still listening to it, they'd be like, "Oh, I'm so sick of that song," or "You seriously still listen that song?" and bla bla bla, and then I thought of how we get something, use it for a bit, throw it out, then get something new, like the "golden arrow" cycle (extraction, production, distribution, consumption, disposal) and how it seems to go on forever, and how our use of media is similar to everyday objects.
So, here we are, after it took me five minutes to explain thirty seconds of my brain.
Zip, zip, zip.
Getting back on topic, I'm going to talk about our use of trends, by which I mean celebrities, music, clothes, etc., etc.
We take something, use it for a bit like it means the world, then throw it away. Ever think where it goes when it's no longer good enough for us? Well, they're misfit toys, forgotten names, forever trying to get back on top but they were left behind in the ever-changing world where things change every zeptosecond (glossary below).
It hurts, because I've been there. I've taken in, been used up, and thrown out. It hurts, because you thought you had something and then it's gone.
You never know what you have until it's gone.
We take something, use it up, and throw out. Again and again and again.
We see the surface. Things pop up to us, we look at it, and then we walk away.
It's like being the toy in the window. You're walking, see it, and at last it has hope for being accepted. But then you see something better in the clothes store next door, a shirt you'll probably wear for a bit, then it'll go out of season and will be never worn again, and you walk away. And that feeling of hope will never leave the toy, except, now, it won't feel so hopeful, more painful and spoiled.
We see things on the surface.
But the thing is, one of my biggest mottos (there are so many I can't choose one) is this: everything has a story behind it. Which is why I can see this. We see things as they come; we don't feel the feelings or the struggle, moments of greatness, moments of despair, and so much more that the used had gone through to get to the top. We don't see everything it could come to be.
Instead, we see the surface, and throw it away because it no longer entertains us.
We don't take things in, and really enjoy them. Everything has to be brand new, shiny, and better. We don't keep things in and really enjoy them. I try to.
Which is why I'm currently listening to 2006 songs that I still love and enjoy even though I've listened to them a million times. They're still fun, great, in fact, they're some of my favorite songs in the world. Yes, they aren't new; yes, I've heard them millions of times; and yes, they're perfectly fine. I watch the same shows over and over and over because I love them. I read the same books over and over and over. And I talk about all these things with my friends, because I still love old things because they're well-worn, familiar, and they're great. I don't care if they're not brand new or whatever's "in season" this year- I like them, and I have the right to like them.
I take things in, treasure them, and keep them close to me forever.

Zeptosecond: one billionth of a trillionth of a second. Yep. That quick.
Please leave your comments about that! It would mean a lot- like the world (technically, though, there wasn't supposed to be a world anymore today...)
For those Francophones out there, I'm probably going to translate this post and out on my French blog, Notre Cote Du Monde (Sorry, no accents on my computer...) so read it! It'll probably be up in a couple of days at the most.
Yours in demigodishness and all that,
Peace out,
I hate looking at your face. *Whiny voice*So, hi.
What'd y'all think of my little story-preview. I'm really afraid that I didn't get some medieval stuff right but I tried my best. Please, PLEASE leave your ideas, reactions, comments, etc., etc., in Comments because I really wan to know what you guys though thought of it and anything I should work on, for, example, messing up my idea of Medieval Times. I'm open to critical stuff, on one condition: no swear words, and by critical comments, I mean, "I didn't like how you did this.." or "That part was really cheesy and weird..." etc., etc., so you have to have a reason, it can't just be, "IT SUCKED" because that's not critical, it's hating and it's just downright rude. Note: If you disobey any of these rules I will delete your comment. *Annabeth's death glare*
On that happy note, my computer's been freezing up all the time and everything's super slow and... well, story short, I want a new computer. SO, in case you didn't know, I've been saving up for a MacBook Pro and I'm about halfway there, and I'm getting a lot more money now than I was, like, a few months ago, so I'm getting closer and closer all the time.
My mom said that if, at my birthday, (April) I nearly have a enough but I'm not quite there yet, they'll lend me some money so I can get it then and I'll pay them back over time, like through babysitting. Allowance does not count, obviously, because they're the ones who give me that money anyway so I'd technically just be giving them back their own money, which is kind of stupid.
Long story short (although I'm afraid it's a bit too late) I could have a faster, better computer by April! So yay!
Again: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT ABOUT MY STORY FROM YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yours in demigodishness and all that, peace out,
Hi! So, you guys, i promised you a special addition to this post, and it is... The beginning of a new story I made up! It's still a work in progress, but I have the beginning all laid out (for now). Because it's not entirely done, if, in the VERY VERY VERY faraway future, on a percentage chance of 0.0000000000001%, I do get it published, then it's bound to be different than this- maybe it starts at a different time, or the characters are different, etc., etc., so please don't be mad because this is only my first draft! Alright, here it goes:
Amy Lowerheart straightened out her nice white dress that her mother had just made for her. The sleeves were transparent and cool, just going past her shoulders. The white summerdress moved about whenever she made the slightest movement. She put the matching white headband on and brushed her wavy red hair. She looked in the mirror and smiled to herself. I can do this, she told herself.
Amy took her locket off the old, dirty counter in the small bathroom, which had nothing more than a wooden tub, counter, and toilet. Amy put the locket on. She was twelve now and had owned it for eight years, the amount of time, almost, since King John had been taken by The Third Outcast. Whenever Amy looked at her locket, it reminded her of the time she couldn’t remember, before there was a blanket of sorrow that hung over Kingdom One. There was another sense to it, one Amy couldn’t decipher; it was mysterious, foreign, special, probably because she had no idea where it came from—it’s just always been there.
Amy remembered the scary day from when she’d been five. After she’d gotten the locket from the front yard, she’d brought it inside, hid it in her bedroom, because her mother was very neat and wouldn’t let her keep if she found out it had been on the street. Amy had played with it in her bedroom—shared with her five older siblings—when no one else was around; it had always felt like a secret to Amy.
Then, one day when she was five, Amy forgot to take off her locket when she went to cook dinner. When her mother saw it, she said, “Amy… please come over here, please.”
Amy could remember every word, every movement, every feeling after that. She’d walked up to her mother very carefully, not sure what was going to happen. She’d taken it off and carefully put in the palm of her mother. Her mother stared at it painfully sadly like there was a bad memory from it. She’d run her thumb over the locket and moved it around for a few moments. Then she opened, and everything changed in a second. Her eyes became wide and she gasped.
“Get it out! Sell it! Get rid of it! I never want to see it again, young lady!” Amy’s mother threw the necklace at Amy unexpectedly and it hit her forehead—hard. Then there were tears in both of their eyes. Amy ran outside, crying, the locket streaming behind her from her left hand.
Amy sat on the first step up to her house, tears streaming down her face like rivers. They lived in a rather unpopulated, poor region of town, and no one came to help her until her fourteen-year-old—at that time, seven—sister Bella came back from her friend’s house.
“Oh no!” Bella said, running towards Amy. “What happened?”
Bella had always been the empathetic person Amy never felt like. Amy shook her head, starting to breathe in deeply, calming herself. Bella got the message. When Amy collected herself, she told the story to Bella.
“I’m so, so sorry, Amy,” Bella said. She helped Amy up and brought her back inside. Amy’s mother was busy cooking dinner. Amy went to her bedroom and hid the necklace in her one private spot—her section of the dresser. The room was packed. There were three bunk beds. William and Norman, her goofball, seventeen-year-old twin brothers, had one; Kyle, sixteen, and Philippa, fifteen, had the second; and her and Bella shared the last one.
Amy tried to get rid of the sad thoughts that started to fill her head. She looked in the mirror again and smiled again. She couldn’t remember the last time she had looked that nice. She knew she had to look nice if she were to try out as a servant for the castle. It would be the best-paying jobs in the family except her mother, the tailor. Although, really, only her two oldest brothers were her competition, being a dog walker and a window cleaner.
Some might think that twelve was too young for work, but Amy didn't mind. Really, she was excited, as she was very energetic all the time and was always looking for something to do, and she wanted to do whatever she could to support her family.
Amy looked at her crazy family mournfully. She wouldn't see them much if she got the job, but anyone under fourteen was given one day off per week. Her mother’s brown hair was tied into a strict bun as usual; she had her giant glasses on and was sewing. Bella studied her, as she wanted to take over Lowerheart Wear when she was older; Philippa was baking cupcakes, Kyle was reading; William and Norman were… being William and Norman.
“Bye,” Amy said sulkily.
*Hi spam*
So, I'm about to start writing my special post for tomorrow- I know, a bit weird, doing this when I supposed to so it tomorrow- but it'll take a long time and I want to spend as much time as I can writing- for you guys who will, someday, be my fan/worshipers.
Hopefully, although that kind of goes along the lines of *starry-eyed dreamer of the impossible* but that's ok! Someday I WILL get to travel the world.
Reminder: I have sisters. Evil, villainous, annoying, unable-to-travel sisters.
*Sighs* *Looks out windows* *Dreams of the beautiful places in the world* *Sighs again*
Anyway, yeah. I say that a lot. So, well... Yeah.
See (or read, write to, whatever, etc., etc.) tomorrow!
HoneybeesVeronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04140568799608307801noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453008124168230634.post-88091079690892943052012-12-16T20:33:00.000-08:002012-12-16T20:33:10.439-08:00Welcome, everyone, to my blog! (crowd cheers and roars.) 'Cept you, Post Title. (Crowd roars and cheers louder.)Yo!
How do you like my new layout? I really like the background picture of books, I really do, I love it so much and I don't know why. I think I made it look much more sophisticated and mature, since I'm a lot more mature and sophisticated now, I have to say, than a few months ago, although the post title (note I didn't put capitals... haha, Post Title, you are no longer a proper noun to me...) font is to reflect how the Blog of Honeybees is sort of like a journal, so it looks hadwritten. The colours are modern yet old-school, my favorite kind. All in all, this is probably my favorite layout yet because it shows my peppy/childish side to show how long there's been a blog of Honeybees (one year in February!!!) and also reflects my more calm side. But alright, enough about that, time to get down to business!
First of all, I'd really like you guys to scroll down to the bottom of this page and cast a vote in my poll. I want to know why you guys read my blog because you mean so much to me! I've gotten over 1000 pageviews since I started this blog, and that can't just be me and my friends and the odd person who accidentally clicked my link. I have to have at least one person out there! It would really mean a lot, so please cast your vote.
Second, prepare yourself for a really long post on Tuesday. I have a bunch of time that day so I promise to write something big for you guys! Maybe *hint hint* even a preview of a story that I just came up with, like, 30 minutes ago!
Third, just wanted to tell you guys I got a bunch of my orthodontics out on Thursday! In case you didn't know, I had springs and this other thingy-ma-bobber that I can't describe. Story short, they were the single most torturous burdens that have been on the face of the Earth since the Mark of Athena. So yeah. They were annoying. And I will have to get full braces in January, but hopefully they won't be as bad, I've already got four on my front teeth and they aren't so bad.
Another note for Thursday, it was Taylor Swift's 23rd birthday that day! Everyone wish her a happy birthday and watch her music video for I Knew You Were Trouble, which I love so much by the way! The talking intro was really good and cool, never seen that before and I can't express how awesome it was.
Yours in demigodishness and all that,
Peace out (Quote: Leo, Son of Neptune)
Sorry)Hey hey hey!! I'm really sorry that I haven't posted anything, I've been really busy with school and friends and stuff, and I didn't exactly know what to do of I started a new post... If that makes any sense.
I'd like to welcome a new member to The Blog of Honeybees! Welcome, Elias, a close friend of mine. Yes! At last, I finally did post something on here.
So, me and my friends Avery and Sofia came up with this thing called PAT-- the things that mean the most to me, Percy Jackson, Avatar, and Taylor Swift. So, yeah, I use that all the time now. And similar to that, I have PJO, ATLA, and TS written all over my hand right now. Yep. Normal kid.
Anyway, for the past few weeks I've had this epic idea for a series but my PC's been kind of slow lately (this is from the iPad...) so I haven't been using it too much, ergo, no writing, and the idea's been nagging at me forever so I went on doodle buddy and kind of scribbled some stuff out... You most likely wont be able to read it, so I'll tell you what it is- a map. With some other stuff I can't tell you about yet on it too. You wanna see it? Here it is:
Crazy? Yup. You got it. But after this post, I'm deleting this post, so when I become the world's most famous author ever you can brag about how you saw one of my first brainstorms. And I get to be famous. It's a win-win for everyone.
HoneybeesVeronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04140568799608307801noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453008124168230634.post-23082510991813742782012-11-27T19:44:00.001-08:002012-12-25T15:37:55.220-08:00Written by Honeybees, not Post Title the imposterHi! Guess what I just found out? There's an app for blogger! It hadn't been working on the iPad when I was on Safari, so I had to wait till I got onto my PC... And we all what it's like....
So, speaking of computers, my dad put in an order for a newer model of computer (by the same people) as my last one so I should have a new computer by January! So yay! It's to help me endure the time until I get my beloved MacBook Pro, because who knows when THAT'S going to happen.
(Thinks of being computerless)
*shiver* *shiver*
Anyway, I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I had a spectacular one. Of course, it's not over yet! I'm still going to watch Christmas Vacation with my family (we do it every year. It's a tradition, pretty much.) Have a great time with your family and presents and have a happy New Year!
HoneybeesVeronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04140568799608307801noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453008124168230634.post-76337068217128091162012-11-18T09:15:00.000-08:002012-11-18T09:15:19.251-08:00I doing fine, thank you very much.Hi hi,
Expect this post to be full of mistakes because my dad has forbidden me to touch type, and so I'm doing it the real way ON THE IPAD (it's hard enough on the computer)
So, I still have all my homework to do but it's Sunday and I really don't feel like doing it right now, plus I have this idea that talking gets your creative juices working (this started in Media class) and writing is like talking. In your head so that is my excuse. Plus I'm the basement and my parents are busy getting my sisters to gymnastics so it doesn't really matter anyway.
I love this iPad, but I wanted more than one way to message my friends so I download KIK onto the iPad and used my account f rom my iPod, except it all crashed and I lost everything!!!! Eurgh!!!!! Screaming/crying/whining face
Good bye,
You might not believe this, but WE GOT AN IPAD!!!!!!
Yep, for my parent's 12th anniversary my dad got my mom an iPad. I guess these celebrations benefit everyone.
Alright, time for the scolding. "Young Honeybees, how come you haven't posted anything on the best blog ever in nearly a month?!" Well, to you people who do not know much about my life, it has been very busy. Last weekend, we were at Great Wolf Lodge from Friday to Sunday, then the weekend before I had Alexandra and Mackenzie's birthday parties and a sleepover. And the weekend before that... Well, you get the idea.
Anyways, I'm back now so you don't have to fret anymore. And speaking of blogs, my awesome friend Macy created a blog called Supernova and it's very interesting but I can't exactly remember the URL completely but I'll post it when I find it.
So, other than that there's nothing to say.
HoneybeesVeronicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04140568799608307801noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453008124168230634.post-63129788290450128822012-10-20T12:41:00.000-07:002012-10-20T12:43:20.041-07:00I wish Post Title would die. Coach Hedge, go kill Post Title. Now. And record it.Hi!
Tonight I'm going to the Rainforest Cafe, which is just outside of Toronto. I haven't been there since I was about five, and I can't remember a thing about it so I'm really excited!
In less than three weeks I'm going to Great Wolf Lodge for the second time. Even more exciting!
I haven't gotten that far through my second short story, life's been really busy and I'm still buzzing and reeling from The Mark of Athena. Ahhhhh. Need House of Hades now. And all the things questions on Rick Riordan's blogs are probably about, yours truly, me, in my opinion.

Of course I've gotten a lot of questions since readers started finishing The Mark of Athena. The Q&A would run something like this:

Q. Why can't I have the next book NOW? I NEED IT!
A. The thing is, it doesn't exist yet. Sadly, each book takes a full year to write.

Q. I want to go forward in time and pull the next book out of fall 2013.
A: Gosh, me too. That would save me a lot of work. Unfortunately, Kronos the god of time is not a friend of mine . . .

Q. Why are you taking time to write a blog entry? Get back to writing House of Hades!!
A. Yeah, well, I do have to take breaks from time to time for, you know, eating and sleeping and stuff. That's also part of the process. Like Percy, I'm pretty ADHD. I tend to write in a 'hit and run' fashion. Write a page. Get up a walk around. Check email. Write another page. Take the dog out. Etc. I've learned the hard way that if I treat writing like a nine-to-five job and sit at my computer for hours on end, my productivity and quality don't increase. I just stare at the screen more. Having said that, yes, I am trying to limit my time doing other things, so if you don't see a lot of new blog entries, that's why!

See? That's me. I think the first one fit me best.
